The Right (or Left) Hand Man

I was watching a video and it hit me how much an individual's hand can tell you about that person. Such as how their hand, as defined by circumstances, exposes the person. I don't want to go too deep cause I haven't thought about it too much but... look at the disgruntled youth in some god forsaken place or perhaps a young collegiate in America. How the calluses would tell a thousand tales of hard work, disappointment, snot and tear covered nails, and yet also the subtle firm hug of a mother or hand shake of a proud ...or grip of a disappointed father. Yet the American would also tell a different story, foreign to our previous friend; where the pencil is a familiar friend, the beer bottle and shot glass are normal transactions, "fisting" and slapping your friends on the back is tradition, and yet that same hand also opens up a door to an empty home, can wipe away tears, and go limp from a society's ability to forget that same blessed hand; a soul vacant from all that was promised of the future. A hand can throw a rock, pull a trigger, caress a cheek, secretly scoop cookie dough, or hold a ring. There are so many similarities amongst us all. Fuck differences. Love is a real politic. Sleep well, and good luck on finals UCI!!!

3.14159.... :D

Happy Pi day everyone! My brother, Craig, goes to the same university as me and is an engineering major told me something interesting today. After he bought Oreo cream cream cheese pie to celebrate pi day (yay!), he told me how pi has actually been something that all great civilizations have discovered individually of each other. A couple years back a couple of Yale university professors found that the pyramids' mathematics are calculated by pi also. Krazy. Go world! Back to studying finals.

PS. thinking of getting a tattoo with my twin. Sweet.

Love Always,
Enrique

Love and finals

So basically like the title says....its almost finals week so I'm getting no sleep and stressed to exhaustion. But... it is my love's and my 5 month. While not important to most, I consider this a sign of maturity for myself. I have finally prioritized my life enough to sense what is important and true to myself. Anyone who knows me, will see that making it past 5 months and still having a good feeling about my relationship is like finding a gold; rare. I know that I have an overwhelming amount of respect, awe, care, passion, and so much more to describe our relationship. So while we both can't get sleep, let alone watch a movie or do anything of the sort. This goes out to you Doris. Luv ya! :)

Love Always,
Eric

World Wide Re-novation

Soooo....today has been one hell of a long day. Anticipated, but invigorating. Did I mention long day? It was the March 4th Day of Action today and literally throughout the nation and some universities through the world were supporting us. If you want to look at the juicy details of the whole ordeal just go to http://ucregentlive.wordpress.com/ Throughout CA there was a lot of break through and confusion. Not that I want anarchy or anything, but the people won't hear your concerns if you just sit on your hands and rock back and forward. Then you'll just get into a crazy house...that's another story though. :) This is more of a progressive campaign. Anyone who is expecting lightening from the sky or for the government to suddenly change their minds is on the wrong path. Instant gratification leads down dark paths my friends, that's often the argument used in desperation, when fists start to get thrown and bombs go off. Not a good way to spread "enlightenment" and increase education I'd say. Who knows how long this will take. As of now...I think we have achieved beyond expectations. Sadly many have joined because of recent racial tensions that have been building on many of the UC campuses. It's sad not that they joined, far from it ( :D ), it's sad that their are still racist patterns of thinking existing in today. I know....sorry to tell all you who thought that racism died when Obama was voted in... It was just lurking on the underbelly of society for a while. That's another story too. But the hope is to educate people, create an avenue for unification, and hopefully wake people up to this dream land that we have been living in.

As people were driving ... well.... sitting in their cars today as we walked in the streets, people were curious. Why are the students so angry? Why yell? Well.... ask someone, have a dialogue. No one is going to bite you....well I hope not. That would suck. Anyway, there is no doubt I have become more of a realist over the years, but I still believe in change. For better days. Action is a power that words lack. Take a chance. Use that brain god gave you, have the curiosity of a child and maybe you'll understand. Our world is far from perfect, but at least we are trying to change it for the better.
